Cross Trust Working (5)

Across Trust Coaching Course

I was recently invited to attend a cross Trust coaching course to build on and develop my skills as an NQT mentor. This course took place at the three schools within the trust in rotation and required us to explore input through implementing coaching conversations and other coaching skills with our mentee.

The ‘Tech’ in Your Pocket – Friend or Foe?

The issue of teenagers and technology has hit the news in recent times, particularly around the impact that it might have on their mental health and the quality of their sleep. At the ELT (Education and Leadership Trust), we embrace the use of technology in the classroom, with two of our schools being BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environments. However, we want the students in our schools to learn how to use technology appropriately and learn how to manage the distractions from the tech in their pocket.

Hosting a Cross Trust Training Day on Growth Mindset

Inspired to further develop our cross Trust working, in December 2017, supported by a grant from the Regional Schools’s Commissioner to build capacity, we held a training day at Old Trafford bringing together all the teachers and support staff from our three academies, along with staff from our partners, Manchester United Foundation. It seemed apt that for our first whole Trust training event, the subject in focus was Growth Mindset!

Developing a Multisite Network of Websites

New to my role as Trust Lead Web Developer, I was challenged to put together a vision of how we should develop our cluster of school websites going forwards. We needed a setup that would better facilitate shared content such as Trust policies, whilst maintaining a unique look and feel for each of our school websites. We needed the potential to expand as well, in case new schools came into our Trust further down the line.

About The Answer in the Room

We are keen to develop ways to share ideas within our Academy Trust and beyond. A blog to which all staff could contribute, both teaching and support staff seemed an ideal mechanism for this. Rather than one voice, we could capture many and begin to reflect the wide variety of skill and expertise we are lucky enough to have access to through our staff within the Trust.
