Teambuilding and Vision in a New Team

Taking on your first leadership role is a complicated thing to do. I thoroughly thought about how I would embark upon this journey and spent several hours in coaching, drafting the plan of how to go about it in the best possible way to get the best outcomes. Here are a few of my experiences.

Instagram in Education

How do you best connect with students using technology? In particular, I’m interested in how to engage Generation Z using social media for a variety of purposes. That’s why I took it upon myself to launch an official school Instagram account for Whalley Range 11-18 High School.

Blogging in Drama to Develop Independent Learning

As many of the new GCSE syllabi are content heavy, we need to help our students develop the ability to do research independently. Blogging on specific topics allows students to develop their independent research skills and also see and comment on each other’s research, therefore expanding and developing their own knowledge and understanding.

Across Trust Coaching Course

I was recently invited to attend a cross Trust coaching course to build on and develop my skills as an NQT mentor. This course took place at the three schools within the trust in rotation and required us to explore input through implementing coaching conversations and other coaching skills with our mentee.
